You'll need to ask Auralic if that's at all possible. Unfortunately, those playlists will need to be created from scratch, unless you can somehow manually edit their contents to change their tracks' linked URLs. That situation would be similar to having (old) playlists containing links to files that have been deleted from the UPnP media server, so you can't expect the Lightning DS cache refresh to account for those sorts of changes. #Minimserver change drive downloadHave you tried network streaming an actual 24-bit wav file to test the Aries with (as opposed to the 24-bit converted output from MinimServer's transcoder)? You can download some test samples of 24-bit wav files from the Naim Label record label site:Īh, I didn't realise you also had some Lightning DS playlists with the links to MinimServer's transcoder's original 16-bit URLs. So I suspect its probably an issue with the Aries and/or the Lightning DS app not displaying the correct value for some reason. #Minimserver change drive softwareI don't own an Aries, but my Pioneer N-50 streamer displays MinimServer's transcoder wav24 setting correctly as 24-bit and so does the Foobar2000 software player using the foo_UPnP plugin to enable its UPnP/DLNA rendering function. #Minimserver change drive how toAny idea how to force those to refresh as well?Syd However, the tracks in a Playlist isn't refreshed after rebuilding the cache and still links to the 16-bit URLs. However, Lightning DS now shows 32bit with the WAV24 setting. Refreshing the Cache seems to have helped. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.Yep, thanks. SCHWING: Which is why Tom says it's so urgent to get all of Newtok's residents to higher ground.įor NPR News, I'm Emily Schwing in Newtok, Alaska. SCHWING: Do you think you have five years? TOM: More and more people move across here within the next five-year period, probably. So Nick Tom says roughly 200 people are stuck in Newtok. There's not enough new housing in Mertarvik yet. ![]() Unlike Newtok, Mertarvik stayed dry - no structural damage, no debris. It shook my house here and there a little bit. SCHWING: Her grandson, Thom, runs wild around a spacious living room, as she talks about last month's storm. JOHN: It's way better than the old one I had back home. SCHWING: Bernice John's four-bedroom home is covered in red metal siding. Only about a third of Newtok's residents have relocated to Mertarvik, on a tundra-covered, treeless hillside. Extreme weather brought on by climate change makes low-lying areas like this increasingly uninhabitable. ![]() If you have any specific questions after reading the User guide, please post them here. All the MinimServer configuration settings are described in the online User guide. #Minimserver change drive installSCHWING: He jokes, but survival is the focus in Newtok. To change the MinimServer configuration, you need to install MinimWatch on another computer. To get there, Newtok residents like Louie Andy have to take a half-hour boat ride across the river. SCHWING: She dreams of a better, safer house in the new village site, called Mertarvik. And I want them to live in a bigger house where they could run around. STUART: I worry about my babies getting cold, staying warm, especially living in this house. Her thin plywood house is about the size of a shipping container. SCHWING: Not too far from the damaged fuel tanks, Janette Stuart hangs bright red and purple bedsheets on a clothesline. JANETTE STUART: My son is 2 years old, and my daughter's 1. The island is the only safe place for our next generation to survive. ![]() TOM: It's essential because it's about safety. It's complicated by local politics, funding gaps and geography. Im using a Synology NAS too, and what used to be M:music from my local drive is now S. They picked Nelson Island, nine miles south on the other side of the river. Just point your library to the location on the NAS where your music resides - preferably after youve mounted it as a network drive (with a letter and everything), but works with the kind of path too.Twenty years ago, Newtok residents decided to move to higher ground. SCHWING: The storm partially submerged the tanks. TOM: Everything is so outdated, and there's so much fuel. SCHWING: Nick Tom, the manager at Newtok's local store, leads me across a stretch of waterlogged tundra and down a crooked boardwalk to the community's two giant fuel tanks. Last month's typhoon swallowed 40 feet of land between the village itself and the Ningliq River. Decades of melting permafrost and severe erosion have inundated the ground with water. Emily Schwing reports on the race for residents to outrun the effects of climate change.ĮMILY SCHWING, BYLINE: It's fall in western Alaska, and along the edge of a small pond where the grass is turning golden, local kids here in Newtok wade in the cold water. The storm that struck western Alaska last month severely damaged the tiny Native village of Newtok. ![]()
