This transitional effect increases Total Solar Energy Rejection (TSER) up to 79% while retaining an impressively light and clear shade. ![]() This will trigger an immediate adjustment of the film’s heat rejecting properties to synchronize with solar intensity. This coating will adjust itself once certain wavelengths of the solar spectrum are exposed to the film. The uniqueness to PhotoSync IRD® lies in the integration of two key technologies: Utilizing the latest in Solar Adaptive Coating (SAC), this nano technology window film adjusts its solar energy rejecting properties based on solar intensity. I haven't tinted my 2014 since I can't really be bothered and I don't park the car outside during the day.Īlso here is a link to another M5 with Photosync but he may have a darker shade. ![]() #SPECTRA PHOTOSYNC VS 3M WINDOWS#All windows were tinted on this car including the windshield. Here is a photo of this tint on my 2013 M5. It would look awesome on your Silverstone car. It lets through 75% of the light and has a very slight blue tint which means it looks like glass. Also you can get even more heat rejection by getting a darker Photosync - 75% is the lightest. It rejects the same amount of heat as 3M colorstable 5% or 3M Crystalline 30%. The CXP has a lot of heat rejection for their % value, but it has these crystals imbedded in them that will make your windows look hazy when the sun is just at the right angle. I may tint my M5 some day, but will go with darker and regular carbon films. I believe that it's better with darker tints, but it's like a stigmatism to me. I also hate how the light refracts off the defroster lines and turn to stars at night. It really bugged me and I regretted having tinted my car. The CXP is great, but like many tints, it has a rainbow effect when you wear polarized sunglasses. You're also dealing with electronics where any water leakage into your dash can cause your warranty to be voided. Clarity is important to me and for a large surface area like the windshield a lot of things can go wrong. Good tint, but I wouldn't do it on the windshield. ![]()
